OPERATION HADIN KAI TROOPS RECORD MAJOR INDEPENDENCE DAY SUCCESSES, NEUTRALISE TERRORISTS, RECOVER WEAPONS Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded major operational successes across Sector 4 in Adamawa State, neutralising terrorists, recovering arms and ammunition, and repelling coordinated attacks on military locations between 30 September and 1 October 2026. In the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area, troops conducted a successful ambush on a terrorist enclave, neutralising 16 terrorists. Exploitation of the area led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, six AK-47 magazines and a belt of pump-action cartridges. The Air Component also conducted a precision air strike at about 5:30am on 1 October, following intelligence that about 16 terrorists and 15 motorcycles had assembled under a tree canopy in Sector 4. The target was successfully hit, with Battle Damage Assessment confirming its destruction and surviving elements fleeing the area. As Nigerians mark the nation’s Independence Anniversary, the Theatre Command reaffirmed the troops’ commitment to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and creating conditions for lasting peace, security and socio-economic development. The Command also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
