I reaffirmed our administration’s commitment to the welfare and dignity of pensioners across Kaduna State by announcing plans to further increase pensions to provide greater support and improve the quality of life of our retirees. I made this announcement during a courtesy visit by the National and State Executives of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP). Since assuming office, our administration has disbursed more than ₦21 billion towards the payment of pension arrears, gratuities and death benefits, while sustaining prompt monthly pension payments. We recognise the sacrifices made by our retirees in serving Kaduna State, and we remain determined to honour their service with compassion, responsibility and concrete action. I am deeply humbled by the decision of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners to honour me with the “Pensioner-Friendly Governor” award, in recognition of our administration’s dedication to the welfare and wellbeing of pensioners over the last three and a half years. I dedicate this recognition to the people of Kaduna State and, most importantly, to our pensioners whose years of dedicated service helped build the state we are proud of today. The Union also expressed its confidence in the direction of our administration by endorsing me for another term in office and declaring its readiness to mobilise its members across Kaduna State for our victory in the 2027 election. I am grateful for this show of confidence and remain committed to earning the trust and support of our people through continued delivery of good governance, inclusive development and improved welfare for all. As a further demonstration of our commitment to supporting our pensioners, I presented an official operational bus to the union and allocated a parcel of land for the construction of its permanent state secretariat. These interventions will strengthen the Union’s operations and provide our pensioners with the institutional support and dignity they deserve. Senator Uba Sani, CON Governor, Kaduna State.
