Another win for President Tinubu's reforms as trade surplus surges Nigeria's total merchandise trade stood at ₦41,444.89 billion in Q2 2026, up 5.61% from ₦39,244.42 billion in Q2 2025 and 19.13% from ₦34,788.59 billion in Q1 2026. Total exports were N27 trillion, while imports were N14.4 trillion, giving a trade surplus of N12.59 trillion. Non-oil exports were N14.1 trillion, crude oil N12.9 trillion and non-oil N3.72 trillion. This was the 11th consecutive surplus since President Tinubu took office in May 2023 and the 14th since the 4th quarter of 2022. Under President Tinubu, trade volume has increased significantly.
