OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA TROOPS ELIMINATE SCORES OF TERRORISTS, RECOVER AMMUNITION IN ZAMFARA, KADUNA Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, say they have eliminated several terrorists and recovered a large cache of ammunition in separate operations across Zamfara and Kaduna States. A statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, says the operations were conducted on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. It adds, troops of Sector-II engaged the terrorists at Kwanar Jolof in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, eliminating scores of them. It notes the troops recovered an RPG launcher, an RPG bomb, an AK-47 rifle, six magazines, 106 rounds of ammunition and a motorcycle. In a related operation in Kaduna State, troops intercepted a vehicle along the Saulawa–Zaria Road and eliminated a suspect who attempted to evade inspection. A search of his bag uncovered 793 rounds of ammunition concealed in gari. Mainwhile the vehicle and its driver have been detained for further investigation, as troops continue efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace across the Joint Operations Area.
