OGUN, NNPC MOVE TO REVIVE OKLNG AS $7BN MARITIME ECONOMY PROJECT TAKES SHAPE We received officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited ( @nnpclimited ) as we opened discussions towards reviving the long-delayed Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas (OKLNG) project along our coastline in Ogun Waterside. This development comes shortly after we signed agreements with DP World for the development of the Gateway Deep Sea Port and the 10,000-hectare Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, with an initial investment exceeding $7 billion and the potential to create more than 50,000 direct jobs. The proposed revival of OKLNG will add a major energy component to this emerging economic corridor. NNPC has indicated that approximately 1,728 hectares of land and 2.5 kilometres of Atlantic frontage will be required for the LNG plants, utilities, storage facilities and associated marine infrastructure. We have assured NNPC of our full cooperation, including the necessary support on land, incentives and guarantees required to bring this important project back to life. Our vision is to create an integrated coastal economic ecosystem where the Gateway Deep Sea Port provides maritime access, the Blue Marine Special Economic Zone drives manufacturing and logistics, and the LNG project supplies the energy required by industries within Ogun State and across the South-West. With these investments taking shape alongside other strategic infrastructure, Ogun Waterside is steadily emerging as a major hub for energy, maritime commerce, manufacturing, logistics and international trade. We remain committed to unlocking every opportunity that creates jobs, attracts investment and strengthens Ogun State’s position as Nigeria’s foremost industrial and economic destination.
